Fabulight is part of Jem Studio, which was established in 1997 by Jacinta Edge, a graduate of the National College of Art & Design. It is an award winning business, providing a unique service to the textile industry by creating beautiful hand printed and hand painted fabrics for interior designers, architects and international fabric houses. Our creations are based around fabrics, but we explore many media to satisfy our clients. For example, we have produced canvas artwork pieces and had fabric fused into glass, so we’re always happy to explore new ideas.

Fabulight was born in September 2012, following a desire of Jacinta’s to combine fabrics and lighting in novel ways. This idea harnesses Jem Studio’s traditional skills to create original pieces that are shaped around fibre optics and LED lights. It gives fabrics a new dimension and modern technology a completely different look.

Now Fabulight materials and fibre optics can be designed to suit your exact requirements, using either textiles or acrylic to leave an impression that is uniquely yours.

“In my role as Project Interior Architect on the Sheraton Athlone Hotel I had the delightful opportunity to work closely with Jacinta on the art concept. She developed high end customised screens for some of the penthouse suites and overlooked the technically challenging process of laminating her silk screen artwork between glass planes. Jacinta was also instrumental in allowing us to provide genuinely bespoke artwork for all standard bedrooms within the given budget constraints. To see her undoubted artistic talent for yourself, just stay a night in Athlone!”
